Is your family consistently facing difficulties with effective and respectful communication between one another? Are you and your partner struggling to parent your children in a supportive way? Have you tried individual therapy for one of your kids but found it didn’t really help with finding deeper connection to one another?

Young Adult Therapy

Are you finding it difficult to navigate the changes that arise throughout early adulthood?

It’s common to feel lost or unsure as you navigate the early stages of adulthood. And when you look around you (especially on social media), it can look like everyone else has it all figured out and is leading their best lives. We tend to compare our insides to other people’s outsides, so it’s easy to feel like you’re the only one feeling stuck, lost, lonely, anxious, or down in the dumps.

There’s a saying, “what you can feel, you can heal,” but we’re not meant to do it alone. Therapy is a safe, supportive place to explore your feelings, identity, behaviors, and beliefs, so you can feel more settled with where you are now and where you are headed.

Parent Support

Navigating the challenges of parenting can feel overwhelming, and it’s completely natural to feel out of sync with your child, or question your abilities as a parent. There is often the message of a “right way” to do things, but often parents feel that it doesn’t “work” for them and don’t know what to do when that happens. We understand, and that’s where parent support comes in. We work alongside you to understand your unique family dynamics, offering a comforting environment to help you develop a deeper understanding of your parenting style and goals. Together, we’ll equip you with the strategies and insights necessary for nurturing stronger family bonds and navigating the ups and downs of parenting.

Teen Therapy

Is your teen struggling with academic pressure, experiencing social challenges, or facing emotional struggles that seem too much for them to handle?

At Sage River, we recognize the unique challenges adolescents face and are dedicated to providing an empathetic and understanding space to help them thrive. Our therapy sessions are tailored to address their specific needs, give them a place to be heard, help them discover who they are, and build the resilience they need to find success in the world. Together, we’ll work on developing the ability to better understand themselves, their emotions, their relationships, and then be able to explore and uncover coping skills to be able to live a more fulfilling and connected life. With therapy, we help them feel more self-assured, emotionally balanced, and empowered to face life’s challenges head-on.

Therapy For Children

Are you a concerned parent who is noticing your child is struggling with behavioral issues, social challenges, or emotional distress?

We understand how difficult this can be for your child and for you, as their parent. We understand the delicate nature of a child’s development and are committed to offering tailored support to help them rebuild their emotional strength and resilience. Our attachment-based approach creates a safe and nurturing environment where your child can explore their feelings, thoughts, and experiences.

Together, we’ll help your child develop essential coping skills, emotional regulation, and a stronger sense of self. Attachment science tells us that we are wired to connect, and the bonds children share with their family members are critical to their sense of security and strength. Children who learn they can turn to a parent when they’re in distress are better able to understand and cope with their emotions, and tend to show more confidence in themselves when confronting life challenges. When we work with a child at Sage River, we believe in supporting the entire family. Our approach to child therapy is a good fit for parents who are interested in being a crucial part of the process.

Therapy For Men

It’s the gut punch moment when you feel as though you’ve failed someone you love. Or it’s the unexpected diagnosis that brings you to your knees. Or your divorce, or the death of a parent. Or maybe it’s just finally listening to the quiet, gnawing sense that life shouldn’t feel like this.

The silver lining of pain is that sometimes it makes it impossible to avoid the feelings you’ve been stuffing for years. When that thought rattles its way in again–”I can’t keep doing it this way anymore. It’s killing me,” maybe this time you listen. Working through emotions that you’ve buried since you were a kid is not for the faint of heart. When the time is right, though, and you’re ready, we’re here. And the good news is–you’ll feel better. Men who find the courage to face what they’re feeling, are able to discover who they truly are. They begin to feel more alive, more loving, more relaxed, and their relationships become closer.

Therapy For Women

It’s so easy to get the message as a woman that you’re not doing it right. Like there’s a right way to be a mother, the right way to be a partner. If you have a career, somehow you get the message you’re doing it wrong. If you don’t have a career, yup…same message…you’re doing it wrong. Or if you decide to not have children or aren’t able to have children, that’s not the right path either! And all the while you’re doing too much, with too little time, and feeling too alone doing it.

It’s easy to feel overwhelmed and like you’ve lost yourself somewhere along the way. If you’re feeling any of this, please know that you’re not alone. Maybe it’s time to sit down with someone who can help you sort through it all and regain a sense of balance.
